Pakistan vs Southern Europe: Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Pakistan
- Southern Europe
How they compare
Pakistan currently reports 23.36 kg/ha against 9.94 kg/ha in Southern Europe, a difference of 13.42 kg/ha.
That makes Pakistan's figure about 2.3 times Southern Europe's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Southern Europe ahead.
Pakistan ranks 23rd and Southern Europe ranks 20th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Pakistan averaged higher in 5 and Southern Europe in 2.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
