Denmark vs Ukraine: Crop residue removal — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Crop residue removal — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- Denmark
- Ukraine
How they compare
Ukraine currently reports 6.09 kg/ha against 5.64 kg/ha in Denmark, a difference of 0.45 kg/ha.
That makes Ukraine's figure about 1.1 times Denmark's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Ukraine ahead.
Denmark ranks 12th and Ukraine ranks 10th of 185 countries.
Denmark has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Denmark | Ukraine | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 4.5 kg/ha | 2.9 kg/ha | 1.6 kg/ha | Denmark |
| 2000s | 5.66 kg/ha | 3.16 kg/ha | 2.5 kg/ha | Denmark |
| 2010s | 6.42 kg/ha | 4.75 kg/ha | 1.67 kg/ha | Denmark |
| 2020s | 6.71 kg/ha | 5.6 kg/ha | 1.11 kg/ha | Denmark |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
