Egypt vs Northern Europe: Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Egypt
- Northern Europe
How they compare
Egypt currently reports 338.24 kg/ha against 141.31 kg/ha in Northern Europe, a difference of 196.93 kg/ha.
That makes Egypt's figure about 2.4 times Northern Europe's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Egypt ahead.
Egypt ranks 9th and Northern Europe ranks 3rd of 185 countries.
Egypt has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Egypt | Northern Europe | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 118.3 kg/ha | 102.46 kg/ha | 15.85 kg/ha | Egypt |
| 1970s | 173.63 kg/ha | 143.98 kg/ha | 29.66 kg/ha | Egypt |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
