Melanesia vs Oceania: Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Input — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Melanesia
- Oceania
How they compare
Oceania currently reports 75.44 kg/ha against 35.33 kg/ha in Melanesia, a difference of 40.11 kg/ha.
That makes Oceania's figure about 2.1 times Melanesia's.
The two have swapped places 7 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Melanesia ahead.
Melanesia ranks 14th and Oceania ranks 16th of 18 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Melanesia averaged higher in 2 and Oceania in 5.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
