Eastern Asia vs USSR: Input — Cropland nitrogen
Input — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Eastern Asia
- USSR
How they compare
Eastern Asia currently reports 39.10 million t against 16.56 million t in USSR, a difference of 22.53 million t.
That makes Eastern Asia's figure about 2.4 times USSR's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 31 shared years of data; in 1961 it was USSR ahead.
Eastern Asia ranks 5th and USSR ranks 5th of 32 groups.
Across the 4 decades both report, Eastern Asia averaged higher in 2 and USSR in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Eastern Asia | USSR | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 7.95 million t | 9.27 million t | 1.31 million t | USSR |
| 1970s | 13.10 million t | 14.71 million t | 1.61 million t | USSR |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
