How they compare

Asia currently reports 46.67 kg/ha against 18.45 kg/ha in Polynesia, a difference of 28.22 kg/ha.

That makes Asia's figure about 2.5 times Polynesia's.

The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Asia ahead.

Asia ranks 5th and Polynesia ranks 8th of 18 groups.

Asia has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Asia Polynesia Difference Ahead
1960s 13.15 kg/ha 7.32 kg/ha 5.84 kg/ha Asia

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
