Africa vs Guyana: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Africa
- Guyana
How they compare
Guyana currently reports 24.01 kg/ha against 2.59 kg/ha in Africa, a difference of 21.42 kg/ha.
That makes Guyana's figure about 9.3 times Africa's.
Across all 63 years both countries report, Guyana has been ahead every year.
Africa ranks 29th and Guyana ranks 30th of 32 groups.
Guyana has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Africa | Guyana | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 0.7233 kg/ha | 9.8 kg/ha | 9.07 kg/ha | Guyana |
| 1970s | 1.11 kg/ha | 14.81 kg/ha | 13.7 kg/ha | Guyana |
| 1980s | 1.56 kg/ha | 12.47 kg/ha | 10.91 kg/ha | Guyana |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
