How they compare

Mongolia currently reports 35 kg/ha against 7.9 kg/ha in Central Asia, a difference of 27.1 kg/ha.

That makes Mongolia's figure about 4.4 times Central Asia's.

Across all 63 years both countries report, Mongolia has been ahead every year.

Central Asia ranks 16th and Mongolia ranks 17th of 32 groups.

Mongolia has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
