How they compare

Suriname currently reports 32.23 kg/ha against 5.35 kg/ha in Eastern Europe, a difference of 26.88 kg/ha.

That makes Suriname's figure about 6.0 times Eastern Europe's.

The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Suriname ahead.

Eastern Europe ranks 21st and Suriname ranks 20th of 32 groups.

Suriname has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Eastern Europe Suriname Difference Ahead
1960s 5.54 kg/ha 9 kg/ha 3.46 kg/ha Suriname
1970s 8.62 kg/ha 13.91 kg/ha 5.29 kg/ha Suriname

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
