Ethiopia vs Paraguay: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Ethiopia
- Paraguay
How they compare
Paraguay currently reports 4.55 kg/ha against 4.33 kg/ha in Ethiopia, a difference of 0.22 kg/ha.
That makes Paraguay's figure about 1.1 times Ethiopia's.
Across all 31 years both countries report, Paraguay has been ahead every year.
Ethiopia ranks 138th and Paraguay ranks 136th of 201 countries.
Paraguay has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ethiopia | Paraguay | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 1.51 kg/ha | 3.83 kg/ha | 2.32 kg/ha | Paraguay |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
