Ireland vs Turkmenistan: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Ireland
- Turkmenistan
How they compare
Turkmenistan currently reports 42 kg/ha against 38.81 kg/ha in Ireland, a difference of 3.19 kg/ha.
That makes Turkmenistan's figure about 1.1 times Ireland's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Ireland ahead.
Ireland ranks 13th and Turkmenistan ranks 10th of 201 countries.
Ireland has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ireland | Turkmenistan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 48.31 kg/ha | 13.05 kg/ha | 35.26 kg/ha | Ireland |
| 2000s | 39.16 kg/ha | 16.23 kg/ha | 22.93 kg/ha | Ireland |
| 2010s | 41.52 kg/ha | 29.47 kg/ha | 12.05 kg/ha | Ireland |
| 2020s | 42.78 kg/ha | 39.74 kg/ha | 3.03 kg/ha | Ireland |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
