Polynesia vs Turkmenistan: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Polynesia
- Turkmenistan
How they compare
Turkmenistan currently reports 42 kg/ha against 4.41 kg/ha in Polynesia, a difference of 37.59 kg/ha.
That makes Turkmenistan's figure about 9.5 times Polynesia's.
Across all 32 years both countries report, Turkmenistan has been ahead every year.
Polynesia ranks 11th and Turkmenistan ranks 10th of 18 countries.
Turkmenistan has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Polynesia | Turkmenistan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 5.19 kg/ha | 13.05 kg/ha | 7.85 kg/ha | Turkmenistan |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
