Australia vs Germany: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Australia
- Germany
How they compare
Australia currently reports 222,858 t against 186,705 t in Germany, a difference of 36,153 t.
That makes Australia's figure about 1.2 times Germany's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Germany ahead.
Australia ranks 13th and Germany ranks 16th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Australia averaged higher in 1 and Germany in 6.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
