Italy vs Northern Africa: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen over time
- Italy
- Northern Africa
How they compare
Northern Africa currently reports 216,936 t against 118,289 t in Italy, a difference of 98,647 t.
That makes Northern Africa's figure about 1.8 times Italy's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Italy ahead.
Italy ranks 24th and Northern Africa ranks 17th of 185 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Italy averaged higher in 4 and Northern Africa in 3.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
