USSR vs World: Leaching — Cropland nitrogen
Leaching — Cropland nitrogen over time
- USSR
- World
How they compare
World currently reports 15.61 million t against 1.87 million t in USSR, a difference of 13.74 million t.
That makes World's figure about 8.3 times USSR's.
Across all 31 years both countries report, World has been ahead every year.
USSR ranks 4th and World ranks 1st of 201 countries.
World has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | USSR | World | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
