Melanesia vs Polynesia: Manure applied — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Manure applied — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Melanesia
- Polynesia
How they compare
Polynesia currently reports 20.73 kg/ha against 13.3 kg/ha in Melanesia, a difference of 7.43 kg/ha.
That makes Polynesia's figure about 1.6 times Melanesia's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Melanesia ahead.
Melanesia ranks 10th and Polynesia ranks 7th of 18 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Melanesia averaged higher in 1 and Polynesia in 6.
Head to head by decade

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
