Melanesia vs South America: Manure applied — Cropland phosphorus per unit area
Manure applied — Cropland phosphorus per unit area over time
- Melanesia
- South America
How they compare
Melanesia currently reports 5.2 kg/ha against 4.48 kg/ha in South America, a difference of 0.72 kg/ha.
That makes Melanesia's figure about 1.2 times South America's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was South America ahead.
Melanesia ranks 8th and South America ranks 11th of 18 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Melanesia averaged higher in 6 and South America in 1.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
