How they compare

Ethiopia currently reports 7.62 kg/ha against 7.25 kg/ha in Thailand, a difference of 0.37 kg/ha.

That makes Ethiopia's figure about 1.1 times Thailand's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 31 shared years of data; in 1993 it was Thailand ahead.

Ethiopia ranks 143rd and Thailand ranks 145th of 200 countries.

Thailand has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Ethiopia Thailand Difference Ahead
1990s 5.48 kg/ha 11.08 kg/ha 5.6 kg/ha Thailand

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
