How they compare

Benin currently reports 3.77 Mt CO2e against 3.44 Mt CO2e in Hungary, a difference of 0.33 Mt CO2e.

That makes Benin's figure about 1.1 times Hungary's.

The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Hungary ahead.

Benin ranks 101st and Hungary ranks 103rd of 201 countries.

Hungary has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Benin Hungary Difference Ahead
1970s 0.8706 Mt CO2e 7.78 Mt CO2e 6.91 Mt CO2e Hungary
1980s 1.17 Mt CO2e 7.99 Mt CO2e 6.82 Mt CO2e Hungary
1990s 1.44 Mt CO2e 4.85 Mt CO2e 3.42 Mt CO2e Hungary
2000s 2.02 Mt CO2e 3.64 Mt CO2e 1.62 Mt CO2e Hungary
2010s 2.7 Mt CO2e 3.4 Mt CO2e 0.6963 Mt CO2e Hungary
2020s 3.38 Mt CO2e 3.55 Mt CO2e 0.1669 Mt CO2e Hungary

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
