Paraguay vs Uruguay: Methane (CH4) emissions from Agriculture
Methane (CH4) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Paraguay
- Uruguay
How they compare
Paraguay currently reports 24.41 Mt CO2e against 22.96 Mt CO2e in Uruguay, a difference of 1.45 Mt CO2e.
That makes Paraguay's figure about 1.1 times Uruguay's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Uruguay ahead.
Paraguay ranks 36th and Uruguay ranks 39th of 201 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Paraguay averaged higher in 2 and Uruguay in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Paraguay | Uruguay | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
