Ukraine vs Zimbabwe: Methane (CH4) emissions from Agriculture
Methane (CH4) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Ukraine
- Zimbabwe
How they compare
Zimbabwe currently reports 9.2 Mt CO2e against 8.72 Mt CO2e in Ukraine, a difference of 0.48 Mt CO2e.
That makes Zimbabwe's figure about 1.1 times Ukraine's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Ukraine ahead.
Ukraine ranks 64th and Zimbabwe ranks 61st of 201 countries.
Ukraine has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ukraine | Zimbabwe | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 59.65 Mt CO2e | 7.22 Mt CO2e | 52.43 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |
| 1980s | 68.83 Mt CO2e | 7.18 Mt CO2e | 61.66 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |
| 1990s | 50.83 Mt CO2e | 7.34 Mt CO2e | 43.49 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
