How they compare

Pakistan currently reports 0.1976 Mt CO2e against 0.1686 Mt CO2e in South Africa, a difference of 0.029 Mt CO2e.

That makes Pakistan's figure about 1.2 times South Africa's.

The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was South Africa ahead.

Pakistan ranks 14th and South Africa ranks 15th of 193 countries.

Across the 6 decades both report, Pakistan averaged higher in 2 and South Africa in 4.

A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
