Caribbean Small States vs Uzbekistan: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- Caribbean Small States
- Uzbekistan
How they compare
Uzbekistan currently reports 6.45 Mt CO2e against 4.88 Mt CO2e in Caribbean Small States, a difference of 1.57 Mt CO2e.
That makes Uzbekistan's figure about 1.3 times Caribbean Small States's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Uzbekistan ahead.
Caribbean Small States ranks 43rd and Uzbekistan ranks 45th of 45 groups.
Across the 6 decades both report, Caribbean Small States averaged higher in 1 and Uzbekistan in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Caribbean Small States | Uzbekistan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 1.96 Mt CO2e | 2.1 Mt CO2e | 0.1446 Mt CO2e | Uzbekistan |
| 1980s | 2.56 Mt CO2e | 2.92 Mt CO2e | 0.3653 Mt CO2e | Uzbekistan |
| 1990s | 3.23 Mt CO2e | 3.66 Mt CO2e | 0.4297 Mt CO2e | Uzbekistan |
| 2000s | 4.57 Mt CO2e | 4.43 Mt CO2e | 0.1389 Mt CO2e | Caribbean Small States |
| 2010s | 4.98 Mt CO2e | 5.39 Mt CO2e | 0.4015 Mt CO2e | Uzbekistan |
| 2020s | 4.93 Mt CO2e | 6.18 Mt CO2e | 1.25 Mt CO2e | Uzbekistan |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
