Democratic Republic of Congo vs IDA only: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- IDA only
How they compare
IDA only currently reports 127.33 Mt CO2e against 13.45 Mt CO2e in Democratic Republic of Congo, a difference of 113.88 Mt CO2e.
That makes IDA only's figure about 9.5 times Democratic Republic of Congo's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, IDA only has been ahead every year.
Democratic Republic of Congo ranks 29th and IDA only ranks 32nd of 203 countries.
IDA only has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Democratic Republic of Congo | IDA only | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 2.16 Mt CO2e | 30.4 Mt CO2e | 28.24 Mt CO2e | IDA only |
| 1980s | 3.04 Mt CO2e | 39.73 Mt CO2e | 36.68 Mt CO2e | IDA only |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
