IDA total vs South Korea: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- IDA total
- South Korea
How they compare
IDA total currently reports 207.3 Mt CO2e against 18.6 Mt CO2e in South Korea, a difference of 188.7 Mt CO2e.
That makes IDA total's figure about 11.1 times South Korea's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, IDA total has been ahead every year.
IDA total ranks 20th and South Korea ranks 19th of 47 groups.
IDA total has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
