Latvia vs Paraguay: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- Latvia
- Paraguay
How they compare
Paraguay currently reports 0.6091 Mt CO2e against 0.5531 Mt CO2e in Latvia, a difference of 0.056 Mt CO2e.
That makes Paraguay's figure about 1.1 times Latvia's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Latvia ahead.
Latvia ranks 137th and Paraguay ranks 134th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Latvia averaged higher in 5 and Paraguay in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Latvia | Paraguay | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
