Marshall Islands vs Northern Mariana Islands: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- Marshall Islands
- Northern Mariana Islands
How they compare
Northern Mariana Islands currently reports 0.0028 Mt CO2e against 0.0026 Mt CO2e in Marshall Islands, a difference of 0.0002 Mt CO2e.
That makes Northern Mariana Islands's figure about 1.1 times Marshall Islands's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Marshall Islands ahead.
Marshall Islands ranks 199th and Northern Mariana Islands ranks 197th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Marshall Islands averaged higher in 2 and Northern Mariana Islands in 4.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
