Northern Mariana Islands vs Palau: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- Northern Mariana Islands
- Palau
How they compare
Palau currently reports 0.0039 Mt CO2e against 0.0028 Mt CO2e in Northern Mariana Islands, a difference of 0.0011 Mt CO2e.
That makes Palau's figure about 1.4 times Northern Mariana Islands's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Palau ahead.
Northern Mariana Islands ranks 197th and Palau ranks 195th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Northern Mariana Islands averaged higher in 2 and Palau in 4.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
