Afghanistan vs Libya: Mineral fertilizers — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Mineral fertilizers — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Afghanistan
- Libya
How they compare
Libya currently reports 9.07 kg/ha against 7.41 kg/ha in Afghanistan, a difference of 1.66 kg/ha.
That makes Libya's figure about 1.2 times Afghanistan's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Libya ahead.
Afghanistan ranks 144th and Libya ranks 141st of 185 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Afghanistan averaged higher in 1 and Libya in 6.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Afghanistan | Libya | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 0.5946 kg/ha | 1.27 kg/ha | 0.6801 kg/ha | Libya |
| 1970s | 3.2 kg/ha | 5.72 kg/ha | 2.52 kg/ha | Libya |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
