China vs Eastern Asia: Mineral fertilizers — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Mineral fertilizers — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- China
- Eastern Asia
How they compare
China currently reports 198.59 kg/ha against 188.91 kg/ha in Eastern Asia, a difference of 9.68 kg/ha.
That makes China's figure about 1.1 times Eastern Asia's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Eastern Asia ahead.
China ranks 3rd and Eastern Asia ranks 1st of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, China averaged higher in 4 and Eastern Asia in 3.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
