Armenia vs Iceland: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Armenia
- Iceland
How they compare
Armenia currently reports 0.2828 Mt CO2e against 0.2198 Mt CO2e in Iceland, a difference of 0.063 Mt CO2e.
That makes Armenia's figure about 1.3 times Iceland's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Armenia ahead.
Armenia ranks 139th and Iceland ranks 141st of 201 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Armenia averaged higher in 5 and Iceland in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Armenia | Iceland | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.3516 Mt CO2e | 0.2444 Mt CO2e | 0.1072 Mt CO2e | Armenia |
| 1980s | 0.4098 Mt CO2e | 0.2823 Mt CO2e | 0.1276 Mt CO2e | Armenia |
| 1990s | 0.2884 Mt CO2e | 0.2813 Mt CO2e | 0.0071 Mt CO2e | Armenia |
| 2000s | 0.2602 Mt CO2e | 0.2834 Mt CO2e | 0.0232 Mt CO2e | Iceland |
| 2010s | 0.3095 Mt CO2e | 0.2647 Mt CO2e | 0.0448 Mt CO2e | Armenia |
| 2020s | 0.3017 Mt CO2e | 0.2315 Mt CO2e | 0.0702 Mt CO2e | Armenia |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
