How they compare

Chad currently reports 21.8 Mt CO2e against 19.4 Mt CO2e in Türkiye, a difference of 2.4 Mt CO2e.

That makes Chad's figure about 1.1 times Türkiye's.

The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Türkiye ahead.

Chad ranks 16th and Türkiye ranks 18th of 201 countries.

Türkiye has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Chad Türkiye Difference Ahead
1970s 1.82 Mt CO2e 11.77 Mt CO2e 9.95 Mt CO2e Türkiye
1980s 1.89 Mt CO2e 14.94 Mt CO2e 13.05 Mt CO2e Türkiye
1990s 4.31 Mt CO2e 15.02 Mt CO2e 10.71 Mt CO2e Türkiye
2000s 7.3 Mt CO2e 14.62 Mt CO2e 7.32 Mt CO2e Türkiye
2010s 12.92 Mt CO2e 17.74 Mt CO2e 4.83 Mt CO2e Türkiye
2020s 19.61 Mt CO2e 20.79 Mt CO2e 1.18 Mt CO2e Türkiye

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
