Congo vs Jordan: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Congo
- Jordan
How they compare
Jordan currently reports 0.3939 Mt CO2e against 0.3281 Mt CO2e in Congo, a difference of 0.0658 Mt CO2e.
That makes Jordan's figure about 1.2 times Congo's.
The two have swapped places 7 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Congo ahead.
Congo ranks 136th and Jordan ranks 134th of 201 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Congo averaged higher in 1 and Jordan in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Congo | Jordan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1592 Mt CO2e | 0.133 Mt CO2e | 0.0262 Mt CO2e | Congo |
| 1980s | 0.1754 Mt CO2e | 0.1832 Mt CO2e | 0.0078 Mt CO2e | Jordan |
| 1990s | 0.1879 Mt CO2e | 0.288 Mt CO2e | 0.1001 Mt CO2e | Jordan |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
