How they compare

Thailand currently reports 11.08 Mt CO2e against 9.61 Mt CO2e in Egypt, a difference of 1.47 Mt CO2e.

That makes Thailand's figure about 1.2 times Egypt's.

The two have swapped places 4 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Thailand ahead.

Egypt ranks 36th and Thailand ranks 33rd of 201 countries.

Thailand has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Egypt Thailand Difference Ahead
1970s 4.16 Mt CO2e 6.65 Mt CO2e 2.48 Mt CO2e Thailand
1980s 5.93 Mt CO2e 8.6 Mt CO2e 2.67 Mt CO2e Thailand
1990s 8.09 Mt CO2e 11.26 Mt CO2e 3.16 Mt CO2e Thailand
2000s 11.38 Mt CO2e 11.46 Mt CO2e 0.0793 Mt CO2e Thailand
2010s 11.41 Mt CO2e 13.41 Mt CO2e 2 Mt CO2e Thailand
2020s 9.88 Mt CO2e 11.93 Mt CO2e 2.05 Mt CO2e Thailand

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
