Eritrea vs Israel: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Eritrea
- Israel
How they compare
Eritrea currently reports 1.13 Mt CO2e against 1.07 Mt CO2e in Israel, a difference of 0.06 Mt CO2e.
That makes Eritrea's figure about 1.1 times Israel's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Eritrea ahead.
Eritrea ranks 114th and Israel ranks 115th of 201 countries.
Eritrea has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Eritrea | Israel | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.7743 Mt CO2e | 0.4331 Mt CO2e | 0.3412 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
| 1980s | 0.8239 Mt CO2e | 0.5783 Mt CO2e | 0.2456 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
| 1990s | 0.8329 Mt CO2e | 0.6981 Mt CO2e | 0.1347 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
| 2000s | 1.01 Mt CO2e | 0.7901 Mt CO2e | 0.2168 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
| 2010s | 1.09 Mt CO2e | 0.8953 Mt CO2e | 0.1937 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
| 2020s | 1.13 Mt CO2e | 1.03 Mt CO2e | 0.0971 Mt CO2e | Eritrea |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
