Eritrea vs Slovakia: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Eritrea
- Slovakia
How they compare
Slovakia currently reports 1.29 Mt CO2e against 1.13 Mt CO2e in Eritrea, a difference of 0.16 Mt CO2e.
That makes Slovakia's figure about 1.1 times Eritrea's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Slovakia ahead.
Eritrea ranks 114th and Slovakia ranks 112th of 201 countries.
Slovakia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Eritrea | Slovakia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.7743 Mt CO2e | 1.55 Mt CO2e | 0.7739 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 1980s | 0.8239 Mt CO2e | 2.09 Mt CO2e | 1.27 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 1990s | 0.8329 Mt CO2e | 1.35 Mt CO2e | 0.5122 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 2000s | 1.01 Mt CO2e | 1.07 Mt CO2e | 0.0625 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 2010s | 1.09 Mt CO2e | 1.17 Mt CO2e | 0.0798 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 2020s | 1.13 Mt CO2e | 1.29 Mt CO2e | 0.1659 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
