Honduras vs Switzerland: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Honduras
- Switzerland
How they compare
Switzerland currently reports 1.47 Mt CO2e against 1.4 Mt CO2e in Honduras, a difference of 0.07 Mt CO2e.
That makes Switzerland's figure about 1.1 times Honduras's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Switzerland ahead.
Honduras ranks 109th and Switzerland ranks 107th of 201 countries.
Switzerland has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Honduras | Switzerland | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.7114 Mt CO2e | 1.73 Mt CO2e | 1.02 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
| 1980s | 0.8804 Mt CO2e | 1.83 Mt CO2e | 0.9518 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
| 1990s | 0.865 Mt CO2e | 1.68 Mt CO2e | 0.8182 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
| 2000s | 1.1 Mt CO2e | 1.51 Mt CO2e | 0.4121 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
| 2010s | 1.33 Mt CO2e | 1.4 Mt CO2e | 0.0693 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
| 2020s | 1.38 Mt CO2e | 1.46 Mt CO2e | 0.0822 Mt CO2e | Switzerland |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
