Mali vs New Zealand: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Mali
- New Zealand
How they compare
Mali currently reports 9.81 Mt CO2e against 9.33 Mt CO2e in New Zealand, a difference of 0.48 Mt CO2e.
That makes Mali's figure about 1.1 times New Zealand's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was New Zealand ahead.
Mali ranks 35th and New Zealand ranks 37th of 201 countries.
New Zealand has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Mali | New Zealand | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 2.23 Mt CO2e | 7.84 Mt CO2e | 5.6 Mt CO2e | New Zealand |
| 1980s | 2.59 Mt CO2e | 8.37 Mt CO2e | 5.77 Mt CO2e | New Zealand |
| 1990s | 2.87 Mt CO2e | 8.66 Mt CO2e | 5.79 Mt CO2e | New Zealand |
| 2000s | 4.27 Mt CO2e | 9.89 Mt CO2e | 5.62 Mt CO2e | New Zealand |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
