Papua New Guinea vs Tunisia: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Papua New Guinea
- Tunisia
How they compare
Tunisia currently reports 1.44 Mt CO2e against 1.29 Mt CO2e in Papua New Guinea, a difference of 0.15 Mt CO2e.
That makes Tunisia's figure about 1.1 times Papua New Guinea's.
The two have swapped places 11 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Papua New Guinea ahead.
Papua New Guinea ranks 111th and Tunisia ranks 108th of 201 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Papua New Guinea averaged higher in 2 and Tunisia in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Papua New Guinea | Tunisia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.9693 Mt CO2e | 0.8313 Mt CO2e | 0.138 Mt CO2e | Papua New Guinea |
| 1980s | 0.9912 Mt CO2e | 0.9 Mt CO2e | 0.0912 Mt CO2e | Papua New Guinea |
| 1990s | 1.07 Mt CO2e | 1.13 Mt CO2e | 0.0652 Mt CO2e | Tunisia |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
