Gabon vs Peru: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Fugitive Emissions (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Fugitive Emissions (Energy) over time
- Gabon
- Peru
How they compare
Gabon currently reports 0.0092 Mt CO2e against 0.0086 Mt CO2e in Peru, a difference of 0.0006 Mt CO2e.
That makes Gabon's figure about 1.1 times Peru's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Peru ahead.
Gabon ranks 69th and Peru ranks 71st of 187 countries.
Gabon has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Gabon | Peru | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0116 Mt CO2e | 0.0105 Mt CO2e | 0.001 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
| 1980s | 0.0168 Mt CO2e | 0.0068 Mt CO2e | 0.01 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
| 1990s | 0.0165 Mt CO2e | 0.0067 Mt CO2e | 0.0097 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
| 2000s | 0.0164 Mt CO2e | 0.0099 Mt CO2e | 0.0065 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
| 2010s | 0.0109 Mt CO2e | 0.0098 Mt CO2e | 0.0011 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
| 2020s | 0.01 Mt CO2e | 0.0081 Mt CO2e | 0.0019 Mt CO2e | Gabon |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from fugitive emissions (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.1.bc Petroleum Refining - Manufacture of Solid Fuels and Other Energy Industries, 1.B.1 Solid Fuels, 1.B.2 Oil and Natural Gas, 5.B. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
