Botswana vs Luxembourg: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy) over time
- Botswana
- Luxembourg
How they compare
Botswana currently reports 0.0017 Mt CO2e against 0.0016 Mt CO2e in Luxembourg, a difference of 0.0001 Mt CO2e.
That makes Botswana's figure about 1.1 times Luxembourg's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Luxembourg ahead.
Botswana ranks 137th and Luxembourg ranks 139th of 193 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Botswana averaged higher in 1 and Luxembourg in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Botswana | Luxembourg | Difference | Ahead |

| 1970s | 0.0005 Mt CO2e | 0.0103 Mt CO2e | 0.0098 Mt CO2e | Luxembourg |
| 1980s | 0.0019 Mt CO2e | 0.0092 Mt CO2e | 0.0073 Mt CO2e | Luxembourg |
| 1990s | 0.0022 Mt CO2e | 0.0051 Mt CO2e | 0.0029 Mt CO2e | Luxembourg |
| 2000s | 0.0033 Mt CO2e | 0.0031 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Botswana |
| 2010s | 0.0017 Mt CO2e | 0.0029 Mt CO2e | 0.0012 Mt CO2e | Luxembourg |
| 2020s | 0.0016 Mt CO2e | 0.0022 Mt CO2e | 0.0006 Mt CO2e | Luxembourg |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
