Bulgaria vs Madagascar: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy) over time
- Bulgaria
- Madagascar
How they compare
Madagascar currently reports 0.0188 Mt CO2e against 0.0172 Mt CO2e in Bulgaria, a difference of 0.0016 Mt CO2e.
That makes Madagascar's figure about 1.1 times Bulgaria's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Bulgaria ahead.
Bulgaria ranks 75th and Madagascar ranks 74th of 193 countries.
Bulgaria has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Bulgaria | Madagascar | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0309 Mt CO2e | 0.0047 Mt CO2e | 0.0262 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
| 1980s | 0.046 Mt CO2e | 0.0044 Mt CO2e | 0.0416 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
| 1990s | 0.0143 Mt CO2e | 0.006 Mt CO2e | 0.0083 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
| 2000s | 0.0164 Mt CO2e | 0.0074 Mt CO2e | 0.009 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
| 2010s | 0.0174 Mt CO2e | 0.0122 Mt CO2e | 0.0052 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
| 2020s | 0.0198 Mt CO2e | 0.018 Mt CO2e | 0.0018 Mt CO2e | Bulgaria |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
