Belgium vs Ukraine: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy) over time
- Belgium
- Ukraine
How they compare
Ukraine currently reports 0.2648 Mt CO2e against 0.2274 Mt CO2e in Belgium, a difference of 0.0374 Mt CO2e.
That makes Ukraine's figure about 1.2 times Belgium's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Ukraine has been ahead every year.
Belgium ranks 42nd and Ukraine ranks 40th of 194 countries.
Ukraine has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Belgium | Ukraine | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1746 Mt CO2e | 0.7862 Mt CO2e | 0.6116 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |
| 1980s | 0.1846 Mt CO2e | 0.9193 Mt CO2e | 0.7347 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
