Fiji vs Iceland: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy) over time
- Fiji
- Iceland
How they compare
Iceland currently reports 0.0092 Mt CO2e against 0.0086 Mt CO2e in Fiji, a difference of 0.0006 Mt CO2e.
That makes Iceland's figure about 1.1 times Fiji's.
The two have swapped places 10 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Iceland ahead.
Fiji ranks 152nd and Iceland ranks 150th of 194 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Fiji averaged higher in 2 and Iceland in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Fiji | Iceland | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0029 Mt CO2e | 0.0037 Mt CO2e | 0.0009 Mt CO2e | Iceland |
| 1980s | 0.0034 Mt CO2e | 0.0052 Mt CO2e | 0.0018 Mt CO2e | Iceland |
| 1990s | 0.0098 Mt CO2e | 0.0069 Mt CO2e | 0.003 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 2000s | 0.0089 Mt CO2e | 0.0091 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Iceland |
| 2010s | 0.0084 Mt CO2e | 0.0082 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 2020s | 0.0077 Mt CO2e | 0.0087 Mt CO2e | 0.001 Mt CO2e | Iceland |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
