Fiji vs Seychelles: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy) over time
- Fiji
- Seychelles
How they compare
Fiji currently reports 0.0086 Mt CO2e against 0.0076 Mt CO2e in Seychelles, a difference of 0.001 Mt CO2e.
That makes Fiji's figure about 1.1 times Seychelles's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Fiji ahead.
Fiji ranks 153rd and Seychelles ranks 156th of 195 countries.
Fiji has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Fiji | Seychelles | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0029 Mt CO2e | 0.0002 Mt CO2e | 0.0027 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 1980s | 0.0034 Mt CO2e | 0.0005 Mt CO2e | 0.0029 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 1990s | 0.0098 Mt CO2e | 0.0016 Mt CO2e | 0.0082 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 2000s | 0.0089 Mt CO2e | 0.0041 Mt CO2e | 0.0048 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 2010s | 0.0084 Mt CO2e | 0.0067 Mt CO2e | 0.0016 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
| 2020s | 0.0077 Mt CO2e | 0.0073 Mt CO2e | 0.0004 Mt CO2e | Fiji |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
