Ghana vs Hungary: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy)
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Transport (Energy) over time
- Ghana
- Hungary
How they compare
Ghana currently reports 0.133 Mt CO2e against 0.1263 Mt CO2e in Hungary, a difference of 0.0067 Mt CO2e.
That makes Ghana's figure about 1.1 times Hungary's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Hungary ahead.
Ghana ranks 63rd and Hungary ranks 66th of 194 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Ghana averaged higher in 1 and Hungary in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ghana | Hungary | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0147 Mt CO2e | 0.1228 Mt CO2e | 0.1081 Mt CO2e | Hungary |
| 1980s | 0.0157 Mt CO2e | 0.1313 Mt CO2e | 0.1156 Mt CO2e | Hungary |
| 1990s | 0.0243 Mt CO2e | 0.0989 Mt CO2e | 0.0746 Mt CO2e | Hungary |
| 2000s | 0.0416 Mt CO2e | 0.1062 Mt CO2e | 0.0646 Mt CO2e | Hungary |
| 2010s | 0.095 Mt CO2e | 0.1044 Mt CO2e | 0.0094 Mt CO2e | Hungary |
| 2020s | 0.1344 Mt CO2e | 0.1228 Mt CO2e | 0.0116 Mt CO2e | Ghana |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the transportation sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.3.a Civil Aviation, 1.A.3.b_noRES Road Transportation no resuspension, 1.A.3.c Railways, 1.A.3.d Water-borne Navigation, 1.A.3.e Other Transportation. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
