Afghanistan vs Ghana: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Afghanistan
- Ghana
How they compare
Afghanistan currently reports 0.4236 Mt CO2e against 0.3946 Mt CO2e in Ghana, a difference of 0.029 Mt CO2e.
That makes Afghanistan's figure about 1.1 times Ghana's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Ghana ahead.
Afghanistan ranks 47th and Ghana ranks 49th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Afghanistan averaged higher in 5 and Ghana in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Afghanistan | Ghana | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
