Algeria vs Myanmar: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Algeria
- Myanmar
How they compare
Algeria currently reports 0.734 Mt CO2e against 0.6975 Mt CO2e in Myanmar, a difference of 0.0365 Mt CO2e.
That makes Algeria's figure about 1.1 times Myanmar's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Myanmar ahead.
Algeria ranks 32nd and Myanmar ranks 33rd of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Algeria averaged higher in 1 and Myanmar in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Algeria | Myanmar | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1511 Mt CO2e | 0.1885 Mt CO2e | 0.0374 Mt CO2e | Myanmar |
| 1980s | 0.2658 Mt CO2e | 0.283 Mt CO2e | 0.0172 Mt CO2e | Myanmar |
| 1990s | 0.3672 Mt CO2e | 0.3405 Mt CO2e | 0.0267 Mt CO2e | Algeria |
| 2000s | 0.46 Mt CO2e | 0.5044 Mt CO2e | 0.0444 Mt CO2e | Myanmar |
| 2010s | 0.6235 Mt CO2e | 0.8145 Mt CO2e | 0.191 Mt CO2e | Myanmar |
| 2020s | 0.7132 Mt CO2e | 0.741 Mt CO2e | 0.0278 Mt CO2e | Myanmar |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
