Algeria vs South Africa: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Algeria
- South Africa
How they compare
South Africa currently reports 0.8452 Mt CO2e against 0.734 Mt CO2e in Algeria, a difference of 0.1112 Mt CO2e.
That makes South Africa's figure about 1.2 times Algeria's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, South Africa has been ahead every year.
Algeria ranks 32nd and South Africa ranks 30th of 203 countries.
South Africa has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
