Algeria vs Ukraine: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- Algeria
- Ukraine
How they compare
Algeria currently reports 0.734 Mt CO2e against 0.6444 Mt CO2e in Ukraine, a difference of 0.0896 Mt CO2e.
That makes Algeria's figure about 1.1 times Ukraine's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Ukraine ahead.
Algeria ranks 32nd and Ukraine ranks 35th of 203 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Algeria averaged higher in 1 and Ukraine in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Algeria | Ukraine | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1511 Mt CO2e | 0.7618 Mt CO2e | 0.6107 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |
| 1980s | 0.2658 Mt CO2e | 0.7966 Mt CO2e | 0.5308 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |
| 1990s | 0.3672 Mt CO2e | 0.7309 Mt CO2e | 0.3637 Mt CO2e | Ukraine |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
